Arrive as a guest – Leave as a friend

Set in a Coconut Grove, Malabar Cove Guest House and River House have magnificent views over the Arabian Sea.
A perfect hideaway. Relax and recuperate from the stresses of every day life. Palm trees and peace!

At Malabar Cove we are trying to keep a natural environment with some modern day comforts. There are no cars in the village and there is no light pollution, so at night the sky is as black as can be and the stars are a magnificent sight.

Close to Malabar Cove Guest House there is a pretty little beach backed by a rocky hill which years ago used to house a fort.

The River House overlooks a narrow river where it sweeps round into a rocky cove to meet the Arabian Sea. Across the river is the famous Drive-in Beach of Muzhappilangad.

It is possible to quickly reach the Drive-in Beach by walking through the shallow river - approximately knee deep on an adult. On the Drive-in Beach it is great fun to take a jeep along the four kilometre beach, skimming the waves.

Within Malabar cove, village life goes on. Each day, fishermen take their nets and colourful boats out to sea, coconuts are harvested and ladies bash their washing on their 'house rocks'. Guests can do this too – though we do have a laundry service!

Guest Testimonials

what our guests have to say about Malabar Cove ...

"As soon as we stepped out of the car to walk through the village to the beach house, we felt we had come to paradise! The beach house is in a stunning location, with beautiful views onto the Arabian sea. Round the corner from the beach house is a beautiful beach. When you sit there, you feel like you are on a desert island. We fell in love with the place from the word go"

Karen Guldberg - Worcester, UK April 2015

"I must express reluctance in writing a review of this wonderful place because we would like to keep it for ourselves. Situated in a small fishing village in a grove of coconut palms at the point where the tidal River Dharmadam enters the Arabian Sea, this simple cottage is a mere twenty meters from the ocean. there is absolutely nothing to do here, you just "be" in a calm tranquility. Across the Darmadan River is the Muzhapilangad beach, four kilometers of gentle waves, warm water and golden sand."

Ann Carter – UK Long stay 2014 and long stay 2015

"Thank you for a lovely stay in an idyllic location. We loved the village life."
